Anakin Technologies, Inc. (anakin.io)

Effective Date: January 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Anakin Technologies, Inc. ("Anakin," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and retains information in connection with our websites, APIs, SDKs, dashboards, and related services (the "Services").

This Privacy Policy does not describe how third-party Targets process data when you access them using the Services. Targets have their own privacy practices.

1. Scope and Roles

Depending on what data is at issue, Anakin may act as:

  • a data controller (e.g., for account information, billing, website analytics, security logs, and our internal service improvement/training), and/or
  • a service provider/processor (e.g., when processing Customer Content on your behalf to generate Output), except where we use such data for our own purposes as described below.

If you submit personal data about others (e.g., via scraping or uploads), you are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to do so and for providing any notices required by law.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in several ways:

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, username, password (stored in hashed form), organization/company name, and related profile details.
  • Billing and payment information: billing name and address, tax information (if applicable), and payment status. Payment card details are typically handled by our payment processors (e.g., Stripe) and not stored directly by us except for limited references such as last four digits, payment method type, and transaction identifiers.
  • Support and communications: information you send in emails, tickets, forms, or chats (including attachments).
  • Configuration and inputs: URLs, parameters, prompts, scraping configuration, request payloads, headers, and other Customer Content you submit.

2.2 Information we collect automatically when you use the Services

  • Usage and log data (including URLs): request timestamps, endpoints called, URLs submitted, Target domains, response status codes, error logs, and usage volumes.
  • IP addresses and device data: IP address, user agent, device identifiers, browser type, OS, and approximate location inferred from IP.
  • Request payloads and content: we may log and store request payloads, including headers and parameters. Depending on your usage and settings, we may also temporarily store portions of retrieved content and Output to provide the Services, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and improve performance.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: for authentication, session management, preferences, and analytics on our website(s).

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Payment processors: confirmation of payment and limited billing data.
  • Infrastructure and analytics providers: operational signals and telemetry.
  • Identity providers: if you use SSO or OAuth integrations, we may receive identifiers and basic profile data from those providers.

3. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Provide and operate the Services (authenticate users, process requests, generate Output, maintain reliability).
  • Security, abuse prevention, and fraud detection, including rate limiting, investigating suspicious activity, and enforcing our Terms.
  • Billing and subscriptions, including invoicing, payment processing, and account administration.
  • Service analytics and improvement, including debugging, performance optimization, and feature development.
  • Training and improving our systems (including models, heuristics, extractors, and classifiers) using Customer Content, retrieved content, and Output, unless an Enterprise Plan agreement explicitly opts out.
  • Communications, including service announcements, administrative messages, and responding to support requests.
  • Compliance and legal purposes, such as responding to lawful requests, enforcing agreements, and protecting rights and safety.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information as follows:

4.1 Service providers and subprocessors

We share information with vendors that help us operate the Services, such as:

  • cloud hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g., AWS or similar);
  • payment processors (e.g., Stripe);
  • analytics and monitoring providers;
  • email and customer support tooling;
  • AI/ML service providers (e.g., OpenAI or similar), where used for features or service improvement.

These providers are permitted to process information only to provide services to us (subject to contractual protections), though exact obligations vary by provider and by plan.

4.2 Network routing and access to Targets

When you instruct the Services to access a Target, the Target will necessarily receive network and request information (which may include IP address, user agent, headers, and request details). We may route requests through third-party infrastructure to operate the Services. We do not control how Targets process that information.

4.3 Legal, safety, and enforcement

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
  • enforce our Terms;
  • detect, prevent, or address security, fraud, or technical issues; or
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of Anakin, our users, or others.

4.4 Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4.5 Aggregated or de-identified information

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

5. Data Retention

We retain information as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including for security, compliance, dispute resolution, and service improvement.

Because the Services involve operational logging and reliability needs, retention can be longer than typical website analytics. Examples (non-exhaustive):

  • Account data: retained while your Account is active and for a period after closure to comply with legal obligations and enforce agreements.
  • Billing records: retained as required by tax/accounting laws and audit needs.
  • URLs, IP addresses, logs, and request metadata: retained for security, abuse prevention, analytics, and operational continuity.
  • Request payloads, retrieved content, and Output: may be retained for debugging, reliability, customer support, and training/improvement, subject to plan settings and any Enterprise opt-out agreement.
  • Backups: residual copies may persist for a period due to backup/archival systems.

We may retain aggregated/derived insights and Service Data indefinitely.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for securing your API Keys, credentials, and systems.

7. International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. If you are located outside the United States, you understand and consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States and other jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws.

Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as contractual protections) with relevant service providers.

8. Your Choices and Rights

8.1 Account and marketing choices

  • You may update certain account information through your dashboard (if available).
  • You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link (administrative/service messages may still be sent).

8.2 Data protection rights (EEA/UK and similar jurisdictions)

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete data (subject to legal/legitimate retention needs);
  • object to or restrict certain processing; and
  • data portability.

8.3 U.S. state privacy disclosures (e.g., California)

We collect categories of personal information described above (identifiers, internet/network activity, account and billing information, and support communications). We use them for the business purposes described in Section 3 and share them with service providers as described in Section 4.

We do not sell personal information for money. If "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising applies based on our practices at a given time, you may have a right to opt out; contact us at support@anakin.io.

8.4 Enterprise training opt-out

If you are on an Enterprise Plan with a written agreement that opts out of training use of Customer Content/Output, that agreement controls.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under the minimum age required by local law). If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us at support@anakin.io.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes become effective when posted with an updated Effective Date. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Report Abuse

To report abuse, suspected illegal activity, rights infringement, or security concerns relating to the Services, email support@anakin.io (subject line: "Report Abuse").
